"Remixed" is available on vinyl and via download, 6 exceptional works of completely different producers and DJs coming from the fields of contemporary club music, united merely by the love for jazz music. Mixed, turned around, played and worked on was "Sanctuary For Animals", Ensemble Du Verre's third and German Critic's Poll award winning album, released in February 2008 on Batterie.
The start is made by Rogall with the title track "Sanctuary For Animals", destilling it's oriental tools. With guitar and a heavily grooving beat he calls upon a saturday night on the Bosphorus.
Energie Du Verre follows with the previously unreleased "Orchestre Video". He plays a mix of traditional Brasilian elements and 70's funk, entirely in the style of his debut album "United Ancestors", on which this piece can be also heard.
The next ones getting going are Electro Mojo DJ and Robot Redford, giving us a fine example of how soulful drum'n bass can be. They give "Just Another Thursday Morning", with the unique Ursula Rucker, everything a track requires at peak time.
The Original Jazz Rockers, famous for almost 20 years of Mojo Club, call out the funk. With their "Mojo Heavy On The Keys Jam" version of "70-71" they manage within 2:49 to let some milliliters of sweat flow in the dancing crowd.
One more time Ursula Rucker is being asked on stage with "Just Another Thursday Morning", this time played by Aaron Bingle and Timo Weiner in their "Sleepless Version" with flowing transitions between deep house and techno. Deep jazz would be the equivalent for this driving and yet such relaxed sound.
The final piece is performed by Meitz, his Sonar Kollektiv Orchestra in the focus of attention, with his "100% Recycle Mix". This track is devided into a wonderful intro and a second extended part translucing every facet of "Ra".
This EP is not only a DJ weapon but also a further collage complete in itself, and that is the subtitle of the original album. The music integrates itself, besides burning club nights, brilliantly into the every day and offers a wide range of the current evolution of different musical sectors to the listener. Ensemble Du Verre's "Sanctuary For Animals" can be freshly rediscovered.
