Four endless years Groove Galaxi have spent on a mission into infinite space. The band which travelled the globe with it's typical vision of dancefloor jazz as the live act of the legendary Mojo Club is now back from outer space. They have landed in the USSR - and they've brought the Beatles with them. The cool and sleazy reduction of "Back In The USSR" could aswell honour “King Tubby”. Submerge into synths and delays, feel the irony and the witty way of palying!
"On The Couch" follows a similar path, the trumpet squeeks and bubbles, the organ roars and wobbles, the drums stumble and yet keep the music together, clever and refreshingly different, maybe the best songs of the band from Hamburg ever...
On top of that you get a remix of another part of the family: Energie Du Verre spins the USSR through a wormhole, the result is a slick up tempo monster dub version for the Headz. With an eyewinking offsideness that would make “Fat Freddies Drop” happy!

Vier unendliche Jahre waren Groove Galaxi auf Mission in den unendlichen Weiten. Die Band, die mit ihrer bis heute unverwechsel-baren Vision von Dancefloorjazz als Live-Markenzeichen des legendären Mojo-Clubs den Globus bereiste, ist nun zurück aus dem Kosmos. Gelandet sind sie in der UdSSR - und sie haben die Beatles mitgebracht! „Back In The USSR“ wird derart cool und sleazy reduziert, dass es selbst King Tubby zur Ehre gereichen würde. Da heißt es eintauchen in die Synths und Delays, die Ironie und den Spielwitz der Band spüren! Ähnliche Pfade beschreiten sie auch mit „On The Couch“: Die Trompete quietscht und blubbert, die Orgel faucht und wabert, die Drums stolpern und halten doch das Gerüst beisammen. Clever und kurios. Vielleicht die stärksten Tunes der Hamburger ever! Dazu noch ein Remix aus der Familie: Energie Du Verre dreht die UdSSR durch ein Wurmloch – und heraus kommt eine slicke Uptempo-Monster-Dub-Version für die Headz. Mit der augenzwinkernden Abseitigkeit müssten auch Fat Freddies Drop mal beglückt werden!
